Northern exposure..

My family and I are from Ohio.  I originally grew up in Dayton on sort of a rough side of town.  I ended up graduating from Kettering Fairmont in 92' and moving to the south side of Dayton.  I met my husband a few years later and we ended up moving to the North side of Dayton to a small little town called Union.  I loved living there, loved my neighbors, loved the schools the whole nine!  I always hated the winters though, haven't been a fan since I was a kid.  Well about 5 years ago we left it all and moved to Alabama, just south of Birmingham.  I was sad to leave all that I had ever known and it took me a good two years to really love it there but I do love it there.  The weather is amazing and we made some of the best friends.  Anyway, we've now moved North again to the west side of Indianapolis and I absolutely despise it here.  I know that as far as meeting people and that sort of thing goes that it will take some time but eventually friends will be made and I'm sure that one day I'll love it here for that reason alone because it is truth that home is where your heart is.  Right now my heart is in Alabama and the horrible winter we are having here in Indiana is certainly not helping my heartache :(  Go away winter!!!  Go away snow!!!  I want my Bama weather back!

Mittens!

As promised here are the pics of the mittens I made the other day.  They turned out quite cute but I don't think they will be great for the snow.  A fashion accessory, yes!  But no bueno for the cold snow.  I'll certainly be on the lookout for one that will be good for the snow though.  so without further ado...

It's confusing!

So the last couple of days have been rough for me and my husband.  Apparently I ask too many questions which in his mind is "nagging".  I, of course, do not see it the same way.  I ask questions to show my interest in him and what he's doing.  I ask questions to be clear about things.  I ask questions to get more information, to get the whole story.  Because lord knows that without the questions I wouldn't get even half of the story.  Have you ever tried talking to someone without asking a question?  It's very very difficult.  The only thing you have left if you have no questions is statements and in statements there's usually some level of fact.  Without questions it's difficult to have factual things to make statements about.  Confusing I know.  So I challenge you, try to go one day without asking your loved one a question and then let me know just how much conversation you're having and how "in the dark" you feel at the end of that day.  No don't tell me, I already know

Macy...

As promised here's a pic of Macy in her new hat.  It's a tiny bit big but she's also a lot tinier than I figured her to be.  She still looks adorable either way :)

trying my hand at mittens today..

So a friend of mine ordered one of my hats for her daughter and along with it she ordered matching mittens.  I've never made a pair of mittens before so this should be interesting.  The first time I do anything it's either a complete failure or a complete success.. there's never an in between.  Hopefully these little guys will be cute as ever!  I'm not thrilled about it though, I don't like making two of anything to complete a project lol  Anyway, stay tuned and hopefully I'll have pics to post later today of really cute mittens *crossing fingers*
